Last Friday (17th November 2023), bedigital was recognised at the ninth annual Cardiff Business Awards as the winner of SME of the Year. This comes 6 years after winning ‘Start-Up of the Year’ at the Awards ceremony in 2017.

Some members of our bedigital team attended the awards in Cardiff’s Mercure Holland House Hotel and were among a whole host of companies and individuals who are recognised as being the best in the business (excuse the pun) of the Cardiff scene.
Hosted by broadcaster Jamie Owen, the ceremony saw finalists from across all sectors in the city compete for 18 awards in a variety of categories, ranging from Start-Up of the Year to Employer of the Year.
The SME of the Year award commemorates bedigital’s ‘significant growth, innovative services, exceptional customer engagement, effective leadership, and strong financial results’ (2023 | Cardiff Business Awards)— all of which we’re very proud to be recognised for.
bedigital has come a long way since our founding in 2014, and our growth has truly been exponential. Within this last year, our focus has been on how we can provide true value to our clients and how we can grow our reputation as one of the leaders in the IT solutions space. Winning SME of the Year not only boosts our recognition in the community, but also reassures our clients that we really are the best at what we do.

Paul Matthews, bedigital’s MD says “Winning this award really validates all the hard work put in by everyone involved in bedigital over the last few years. It’s a real collective achievement.”
We’d like to thank the judges, the event’s team and ultimately our clients for their continued support over the years. This award couldn’t have been won without the hard work and dedication of each and every person who has been a part of the bedigital journey. Here’s to another year of saving leaders time and money!
Chair of judges Louise Harris, co-founder of Tramshed Tech, said: “We are privileged to be a part of this community that continues to push the boundaries of innovation and industry. The stories of determination, strength, and success we encounter within these awards are nothing short of inspiring”.
Co-Founder of Cardiff Business Awards, Liz Brookes, Director of Grapevine Event Management said: ““The sheer talent of the businesses and entrepreneurs that enter the awards year on year is nothing shy of incredible and we’re incredibly lucky to have such a thriving business community right on our doorstep, they all deserve to be congratulated on their achievements. I would like to offer a huge congratulations to all of the winners and to all of those shortlisted.”
The Cardiff Business Awards is organised by Grapevine Event Management. Euroclad Group was this year’s headline sponsor, alongside category sponsors ACT Training, Box UK, Cardiff Council, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Celsa Steel UK, Felicitas Consultancy, FSEW, Heath Windows & Doors, Landsec, Ogi, University of South Wales, Visit Cardiff, and Stills.
Darren Stewart, Commercial Director of Euroclad Group, headline sponsors of the awards said “We all thoroughly enjoyed this year’s Cardiff Business Awards. Being caught up in our own day-to-day business we often miss out on discovering and interacting with the others out there who are also key contributors to Cardiff’s standing and economical success. This process has allowed me to meet so many innovative and diverse businesses, all of whom have shown me an immense passion. Having gained insight, and now knowing what these businesses are contributing to our city, they are all winners in my eyes and I give them my best wishes for their continued success.”
