DMSG joins Apptio’s partner program to help IT leaders increase the value of IT investments
DMSG Ltd, a leading innovative agile digital solution provider and digital transformation advisory services company, today announced a strategic partnership with Apptio®, the business management system of record for hybrid IT and leading provider of cloud-based Technology Business Management (TBM) software. TBM, which aligns the business with the finance and IT functions, requires the ability to rapidly assess and validate IT spending, and is essential to managing business demand for IT resources. The combination of DMSG’s data, operational insights, and strategic consulting, together with Apptio’s leading SaaS-based applications, is designed to significantly enhance an organisation’s TBM capabilities by increasing its visibility into the cost, quality and value of the services it delivers.
"DMSG and Apptio are strategically partnering to help CIOs and IT leaders of global large and midsize enterprises along with public sector organisations to gain real-time insight into operational performance and increase the value of their IT investments,” said Neil Barton, Director and TBM Consultant, DMSG Ltd. “This combination will establish a system of measurement and control to continually identify opportunity for improvement and enable better decision-making around how IT resources are consumed."
Through the partnership, Apptio’s TBM SaaS-based applications will enable DMSG to deliver industry-leading TBM services through the creation of a practice group to deliver configuration and implementation services to support the sale and delivery of joint solutions. By providing these powerful insights to a CIO, DMSG’s broader capabilities are then perfectly placed to enable the CIO to act on the Apptio insights to either ‘Run the Business’ or ‘Change the Business’.
Over the past decade, total IT spending has soared, despite significant reductions of IT costs on a per unit basis. This trend has been driven largely by unconstrained consumption of IT by business users. By linking IT service delivery to business decisions through ongoing analysis of operational performance, the partnership aims to address this longstanding challenge.
Nick Barber, Senior Director of Channels and Alliances at Apptio said, "The DMSG and Apptio partnership will offer government agencies Technology Business Management (TBM). The partnership will help CIOs manage the economics of IT, innovate within constrained budgets, accelerate digital business, and modernise with cloud investments. It will provide transparency into IT spend, leverage an automated bill of IT that improves engagement with stakeholders and fosters better cross functional decision-making about cloud and other investments. By shifting the dialogue from tech metrics like uptime, latency, and trouble tickets to the value of IT through cost effective services, application and infrastructure services, the organization is able to better link IT decisions to capabilities the citizen’s need, effectively marrying supply with demand." Apptio forms alliances with the industry’s leading IT technology and service companies who are passionate about IT transformation. Together, Apptio partners provide joint customers with unparalleled flexibility and comprehensive products and services to meet the demands of today’s dynamic IT environments. Through the partnership, the two organizations will undertake joint go-to-market activities to increase their reach and deliver greater value to existing and new clients in the UK focusing on public and private sector enterprises.
